WYLIE FEATURES LOCAL TEN IN BULGARIA DOUBLE HEADER

Ten representatives of Danske Bank Women's Premiership clubs were involved in Northern Ireland Under 17’s double header with Bulgaria last week.

Half of that representation came from Cliftonville through Lauren Welsh, captain Fi Morgan, Shona Davis, Abbie McHenry and Rachel Norney, while another Reds starlet - Rosie Zubier - had to withdraw through injury.

Linfield had three players in the squad - defenders Lucy Andrew and Kathryn McConnell, alongside midfielder Katie Dickson - while Glentoran's Cara Mervyn and Cora Chambers of Sion Swifts were also involved.

The two teams cancelled each other out 0-0 - in a game where Cliftonville's McHenry struck the post late on - during Tuesday's encounter at the Riada Stadium in Ballymoney, while the Bulgarians ran out 2-0 victors in Thursday’s clash.
