Cliftonville ran out comfortable 5-0 winners against a relegated Derry City side at Solitude in a cool summers evening.

Goals from Celine Curtis, a brace from Leah McEvoy, Marissa Callaghan and Kiela Moss made the score look severely one sided despite a good fight from Derry City early in the second half.

Cliftonville broke the deadlock ten minutes into the game as Gemma Quigley lobbed a ball over the Derry defence for Leonitia McVarnock to latch onto. The cross found Callaghan and Derry keeper, Molly McBride pulled off a magnificent save but could not stop Celine Curtis from tapping into an empty net. Cliftonville dominated the first half but were unable to add to their score.

In the second half, Derry began to take the game to the home side and were effective down the right wing. Aisling McDevitt played a lovely ball through the channel for Niamh Connolly but with the angle against her, her shot went straight at Tiarna McKenna.

Completely against the run of play, Cliftonville doubled their lead. With Derry pushing forwards, Marissa Callaghan played a ball in behind the defence for McEvoy and the Cliftonville striker stroked past the keeper.

McEvoy doubled her tally for the night in a similar fashion. Kiera Moss played a ball over the top and the striker clinically finished. An error gifted Cliftonville their fourth. Under pressure from Moss, Molly McBride attempted to play her way out of the box but the ball ricocheted of the Cliftonville player and into the net.

With less than 10 minutes on the clock, Malissa Callaghan brought the score to 5 with a finish from the penalty spot as Cliftonville remain in pole position to secure the runners up position.
