Kirsty McGuinness grabs another four goals as the league leaders sweep the reigning champions to the side in a 7-1 victory at Rathmore Grammar School.

Newry started the game with promise and took the lead in the 8th minute through Aoife Lennon. Aimee Mackin worked an opening down the left and crossed for the captain to slot home.

The lead lasted just over 10 minutes when McGuinness scored the first of four goals with a free kick 2 yards outside of the box.

Seven minutes before the break, Linfield took the lead courtesy of a fine strike from Sarah Venney before McGuinness capitalised on sloppy Newry defending to leave the hosts in a commanding position.

The second half was only 30 seconds old when Venney weighted a perfect pass behind the Newry defence for McGuinness to net her second hat trick in a row. Newry goal keeper, Caoimhe Callaghan pulled off some fantastic saves to prevent Linfield from adding to their tally.

Amber Dempster capped off a lovely move involving Hannah Doherty and McGuinness for the fifth goal while the latter grabbed her fourth goal after firing home via the cross bar.

Megan Bell capped off superb Linfield performance with goal number 7 and could have added an 8th minutes later after embarking on a mazy run from the left side of the pitch but was denied by another good save.
