Glentoran picked up their first win of the campaign with this defeat of Derry City Ladies at Ashfield.

The Glens started like a house on fire and were two goals in front within eight minutes as Kelly Bailie strode through the middle of the Derry defence unchallenged to finish past the helpless keeper. The second goal came courtesy of a deflection off Shannon Dunne after great down the left by Glentoran.

The game fell flat for 20 minutes as Glentoran tried to consolidate the lead and Derry attempted to lift themselves.

A few saves from either keeper kept the score as it was until the half-hour mark when a bullet header from Makyla Mulholland increased Glentoran's lead. She rose highest at the back post to score her first league goal of the season.

Aoife Lennon added Glentoran's fourth two minutes later when she challenged the Naomh Barr when she fumbled a cross. Unfortunately for the keeper, Lennon got her foot in first and knocked the ball into the empty net.

The second half was a pretty subdued affair with both teams seemingly happy to close up shop and take what they had. Rachel Rogan added a fifth just after the hour minutes before the Derry City got a consolation through Rachel Barnaby.
