Glentoran WFC and Crusaders Strikers shared the points on the opening day of the new Danske Bank Women's Premiership season.

Perfect spring conditions welcomed both teams to the Oval for the first Belfast derby of the campaign.

The Glens, make the most of home advantage, dominated for large periods of the first half and pegged Crusaders into their own half for the majority of the opening 45 minutes.

With the home defence and 'keeper rarely troubled, both Samanatha Kelly and Demi Vance caused havoc at the other end of the big Oval pitch with both unlucky not to score.

Crusaders rung the changes at the break, and will be happy with their overall defensive play although no doubt hoping to create more in future games while Glentoran, albeit content with their performance, will just have to write it off as one of those nights in front of goal.
