Sarah Connolly (15)

Sarah Connolly grabbed the solitary goal of the game as Mid Ulster headed back to Cookstown with all three points.

In a frantic start to the game, Glentoran's Rachel Rogan sent Lauren Wade surging into the box from the left wing however the shot didn't trouble the keeper.

Both Orla Swail and Rebecca Bassett had opportunities for Glentoran and Mid Ulster respectively before Connolly gave the away side the lead after 15 minutes.

A long goal kick from Jacqueline Burns caused a mix up in the Glentoran defence between Kelly Bailie and Yasmin White allowing Connolly to collect before dinking the ball over the onrushing Abby Bavarik in the Glentoran goal.

Nobody could provide the finishing touch to a teasing ball from Rebecca Bassett across the box, while Kelly Bailie's free kick was saved by Burns on 29 minutes.

A vital challenge from Glentoran's Bailie stopped Connolly scoring her second 10 minutes into the second half.

The home side threatened through Swail, Wade and Jess Foy making advancing runs from left back. Lauren Wade delivered an excellent ball into the box from the corner however Bailie couldn’t guide the ball into the back of the net.

As Glentoran continued to push for an equaliser, Mid Ulster looked dangerous on the break. Rebecca Bassett was a great target for Claire Rooney and Karen Donnell to aim for and was able to bring Cathy Rees and Sarah Connolly into play.

The 1-0 victory sees Mid Ulster move above Glentoran BU into 5th position.
