INVINCBLE REDS FINISH SEASON WITH PERFECT RECORD
Cliftonville Ladies defeated Crusaders Strikers to win the north Belfast derby, complete their title winning season and finish the campaign with a perfect record.
John McGrady's side went into the game having won all 15 of their previous outings, and set about earning the 'Invincibles' tag with aplomb, coming close on 12 minutes when Marissa Callaghan offered up a well measured lob over keeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford only for the ball to skim the crossbar.
Callaghan came close again soon after with a header against the woodwork from Toni-Leigh Finnegan's cross only to be ruled offside by the officials.
And the pair combined once again on 34 minutes with Callaghan finding the net on this occasion only to judged to have strayed offside once more.
However, the Reds weren't to be denied on 52 minutes after Danielle Maxwell sent over a cross which ended up going in at the back post to break the deadlock and ultimately claim all three points.
