CANDYSTRIPES EDGE PAST CRUES
Derry City Women moved into fifth spot in the table following a narrow defeat of Crusaders Strikers at Seaview.
In what was a keenly fought encounter with chances at both ends, it fell to Caoirse Doherty to bag the only goal of the game with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
Tara O'Connor-Farren pumped a long ball forward from deep inside her own half, with it eventually reaching Doherty on the edge of the area.
The 20-year-old controlled the ball, brought it in the area and finished with aplomb past keeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford into the bottom left corner.
