JOHNSTON HAT-TRICK HELPS LARNE SECURE TOP FLIGHT SAFETY
Hollie Johnston hit a hat-trick as Larne Women defeated Mid Ulster Ladies at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena to secure their top flight status for another season.
Johnston opened the scoring with a minute of the clock with a chipped finish over Lilie Crooks.
Niamh O'Donnell levelled for Mid Ulster after 18 minutes with a spot-kick into the top left corner but, just over ten minutes later, Johnston knocked home her second of the game following a defensive lapse.
Mid Ulster hit back again, however, when O'Donnell's cross was tucked away by Laura Kelly eight minutes from the break.
Larne regained the lead ten minutes into the second half after Bernadette Ferreira poked the ball home following a goalmouth scramble before, in stoppage time, Johnston bagged her hat-trick following a counter attack.
