DERRY REVIVAL CONTINUES
Derry City Women clocked up back to back wins with victory over Mid Ulster Ladies at the Brandywell to move off the foot of the table.
The visitors started the brighter, however, and moved in front early on when Eimear McGarrity neatly lifted the ball over Naomh Barr in the home goal.
City levelled after 12 minutes, however, when Abby Alexander rose well to head into the Mid-Ulster goal following a free kick on the right.
The goal calmed the home side and there was only one side in it for the remainder of the half. Both Erin Coyle and Ellie Redden added to the Candystripes advantage with stunning long-range strikes before the interval.
The second half was a more even affair, but the game ended as a contest on 70 minutes when Clarah Quigg scored direct from a corner.
