MID ULSTER OFF AND RUNNING
Mid Ulster Ladies picked up their first points of the campaign with a two-goal defeat of Derry City Women at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena.
Starting off with real purpose, Mid Ulster needed just two minutes to open the scoring when Eimear McGarrity rifled the ball home from the edge of the box after connecting with a corner.
The sides traded chances as the first half progressed with the hosts dominating large periods of possession while, for Derry, Bria McGilloway saw an effort well saved by keeper Lilie Crooks.
Lucy Badger had a chance to double the home advantage on the hour but her snapshot fizzed just wide while a later effort was dealt with by City keeper Naomh Barr.
However Mid Ulster made sure of the points with ten minutes remaining when Aimee McClure tucked away the rebound after Sharagh Murphy's initial effort had been turned away by Barr.
