RAMPANT REDS RUN RIOT
Cliftonville Ladies continued their strong start to their title defence with a comprehensive defeat of Larne at Inver Park.
It only took ten minutes for the Reds to open the scoring when Northern Ireland captain Marissa Callaghan scored from close range.
Danielle Maxwell headed home a second soon after, before Caitlin McGuinness made it 3-0 a couple of minutes after that when she raced through the home defence.
Larne keeper Kate Smith pulled off some impressive saves but was beaten again after Caitlin McGuinness took the ball past her to poke home from close range, while Maxwell bagged her second on the stroke of half-time with a precise finish.
Cliftonville extended their advantage not long after the interval. Smith had initially done well to tip a Callaghan spot-kick onto the post only for Kirsty McGuinness to follow up on the rebound.
Callaghan did grab her second of the night soon after, however, with a close range volley from Abbie Magee's cross.
Fionnula Morgan added to Cliftonville's dominance just after the hour with a header from a corner, followed quickly by a second for Kirsty McGuinness.
Magee then got her name on the scoresheet with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining thanks to a slight deflection into the opposite corner.
Hannah Doherty smashed home an 11th goal from outside the area before substitute Claire Shaw completed the scoring in the closing minutes.
