REDS TAKE STEP TOWARDS FIRST TITLE
Cliftonville Ladies moved to within one point of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title with a two-goal victory over Sion Swifts Ladies.
Goals from Fionnuala Morgan and Danielle Maxwell in either half sealed the victory for the Reds, who are now four points clear of Glentoran Women with two rounds of matches remaining.
Morgan’s header just after the half hour mark from Maxwell’s corner opened the scoring, before the winger turned from provider to scorer with nine minutes remaining to seal the points.
If Cliftonville beat Crusaders Strikers next week, they will secure the title – regardless of the outcome of Glentoran’s clash against Linfield Ladies.
