McCARRON GOAL ENOUGH FOR GLENS
Glentoran Women kept their title hopes alive as Chloe McCarron’s first half goal was enough to defeat a resilient Crusaders Strikers.
After the last encounter between these two sides at Seaview the game started as expected with a high tempo and feisty battles.
The only goal of the game came from McCarron with a stunning long-range strike from a Joely Andrews short corner.
Crusaders battled hard in the second half, holding back the home side with keeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford pulling off numerous heroic saves to keep the score at 1-0.
The Glens remain one point behind Cliftonville Ladies – who they still have to play – at the top of the standings, with the Reds having a game in hand.
