BLUES BACK INTO TOP HALF
Linfield Ladies secured a huge three points at Sion Swifts Ladies to move three points above their opponents – albeit having played a game more – in the race for a top half finish.
Second half goals from Rachel McConnell and substitute Carla Devine were enough for the Blues, despite Kerry Brown netting a consolation strike for Sion in stoppage time.
McConnell’s opener came as she was unmarked inside the area from a Keri Halliday cross to control the ball and slot home, before Devine doubled the lead with a fine run and finish.
Brown pulled a goal back following a cross from the right hand side which eventually sneaked in, but it proved to be a consolation goal as the Blues took home the points.
