STRIKERS LEAPFROG SWIFTS INTO THIRD
Crusaders Strikers leapfrogged Sion Swifts Ladies into third spot with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Seaview.
The deadlock was broke halfway through the second half by Rachel McLaren’s long-range strike although Teegan Lynch grabbed an equaliser five minutes later.
Amy McGivern restored the home side’s lead with ten minutes remaining and despite Lisa Armour’s red card for a second yellow, the Strikers secured all three points.
McLaren had broken the deadlock just a few minutes after rattling the post with a low shot but Lynch equalised following a scramble in the home side’s defence.
McGivern hit the winner after bringing the ball down with her chest before finding the bottom corner of the net to clinch victory for the Strikers.
