CHAMPIONS GLENTORAN OFF TO WINNING START
Champions Glentoran got the defence of their Danske Bank Women’s Premiership off to a winning start with a four-goal win over newly-promoted Lisburn.
Two goals in the opening ten minutes from Northern Ireland internationals Joely Andrews and Nadene Caldwell ensured Billy Clarke’s side were always going to be in control of the game.
Caldwell was the initial creator to set-up Andrews before she netted a fine solo goal.
Lisburn held their own and created chances of their own but a Casey Howe tap-in added a third for the Glens before the break after Rachel Rogan’s first effort was blocked before Caragh Hamilton scored a fourth eight minutes into the second half.
