CROMPTON KNOCKS HOME DERBY WINNER
Kelly Crompton’s strike twenty minutes from time was enough for Sion Swifts Ladies to secure the points against Derry City Women.
The only goal of the game came in the 70th minute after substitute Denise McElhinney flicked on a header and Crompton tapped home at the back post.
It was a game of few chances and whilst the visitors pushed for a late equaliser, Sion held out to secure their second successive victory in the league.
Sion remain fourth but are now within three points of third-placed Crusaders while Derry stay at the foot of the table.
