HOWE BAGS GLENTORAN'S STOPPAGE TIME WINNER
Casey Howe struck a dramatic late winner for league leaders Glentoran Women to secure a hard-fought win at Crusaders Strikers.
Kerry Beattie’s opener was cancelled out by an Amy McGivern equaliser for the hosts but Howe - a close-season addition from rivals Linfield - won the game late on.
The home side’s striker Emily Wilson and Beattie of the Glens had the best chances in a first half which was contested by two evenly-matched sides.
Beattie gave the Glens the lead with a calm finish shortly after the break but McGivern headed home Kirsty Cameron’s cross to level the score.
Howe then netted a fine individual goal late on, picking up the ball on the flank and cutting inside to fire home from just outside the box.
Champions Glentoran are now four points clear of Cliftonville at the top of the standings, but the Reds have two games in hand.
