FOUR MORE FOR IN FORM BEATTIE
In-form Glentoran striker Kerry Beattie netted a remarkable four goals to lead the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership champions to a 4-1 win over Sion Swifts
Beattie struck twice in the first half to put the hosts in control and despite Leontia McVarnock pulling one back for Sion on the stroke of half-time, two second half penalties sealed the points for the hosts.
The deadlock was broken after Lauren Wade drove inside from the right opening up space for Beattie inside the box to slot home.
Beattie soon had her second after a Casey Howe cut back from the left, although just before half time Sion got a goal back with a McVarnock strike from outside the box.
Sion stepped up the pressure in the second half and created more opportunities, but twice Nadene Caldwell was felled in the box and twice Beattie netted the resulting penalty kick.
