SWIFTS GET OFF THE MARK
Sion Swifts Ladies got their first goals and point of the campaign as they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 against Crusaders Strikers.
Danielle McDowell’s penalty and Emily Wilson’s early second half strike had twice given the Crues the lead, but Teegan Lynch and Zara O’Hagan rescued a point for the hosts.
McDowell had given the Crues the lead from the penalty spot in the eighth minute it took Sion just three minutes to respond when Lynch headed home a free-kick.
Wilson restored the visitors advantage seven minutes after the break as she latched onto a long ball to slot home, but Sion were level again on the hour mark as O’Hagan’s high pressure forced visiting goalkeeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford to kick the ball off her, rebounding into the net.
