NARROW WIN FOR BLUES AT SEAVIEW
Linfield Ladies moved level on points with Glentoran Women at the top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership thanks to a narrow win at Crusaders Strikers.
Alison Smyth’s goal against her former club on the stroke of half-time was enough to secure the victory for the Blues, who have leapfrogged Sion Swifts in the standings but have played one game more than each of their title rivals.
This was a game of few chances for either side with Smyth’s close-range finish coming from an Abbie Magee cross which the home side could not defend against.
It was a first home defeat of the season for the Strikers, who had defeated both Sion and Cliftonville at Seaview this campaign.
