CASEY BAGS FIVE FOR BLUES AT BRANDYWELL
Linfield Ladies ran out comfortable seven-goal victors over Derry City Women at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium to boost their title hopes.
Casey Howe was the star of the show for the Blues as she grabbed a laudable five goals, while Rebecca McKenna and Ebony Lecky were also on target in the rout.
The Blues only netted once before the break when Howe’s 25-yard effort found the top corner of the net, but the goal flowed thereafter as the Fermanagh-native netted a further four times.
Lecky netted her first Linfield goal when she fired into the top corner from the edge of the box with McKenna’s fine individual effort completing the rout in the 80th minute.
The Blues have now won three of their opening four league games with Derry yet to pick up a point.
