BLUES PICK UP OVAL POINT AS TITLE RACE GOES TO THE WIRE
The title race in the Danske Bank Women's Premiership will go down to the wire after Linfield were held to a 1-1 draw with Glentoran at The Oval.
The Blues are three points behind league leaders Sion Swifts with a game in hand - Linfield have to play basement side Comber Rec at home and travel to Derry, while Sion also have to travel to the Candystripes.
Sion have an 11-goal advantage on goal difference, and the race is now poised to go into the final minutes of the season after third-placed Glentoran frustrated the Blues on Saturday.
Makyla Mulholland gave the Glens a first-half lead before the Blues levelled midway through the second half.
Demi Vance starred for the home side in the first half and the Glens goal on the half hour mark from Mulholland was deserved, with Kelly Baillie’s headed goal five minutes later ruled out for offside.
Linfield levelled in the second half after an onslaught of pressure, and despite the Blues pushing for a late winner the spoils were shared.
