GLENS BACK ON TOP OF THE PILE
Title hopefuls Glentoran and Sion Swifts both took advantage of Linfield sitting out this round of action to leapfrog them at the top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.
Striker Rachel Rogan netted twice for the Glens in their 4-0 home victory over struggling Derry City, with Joely Andrews and Kerry Beattie also on target for the East Belfast side.
Glentoran's Kelly Baillie spurned an early opportunity from the penalty spot but Andrews slotted home the opener just after the half hour mark.
Glentoran came out for the second half with more cohesion and intent. Good work from Andrews on the right wing found Rogan on the six-yard line in the 49th minute to double the lead.
Rogan added her second and Glentoran's third on 65 minutes after a Derry defensive mix-up before Beattie made it four, two minutes later, with a well worked goal from the right.
