GLENS HIT SEVEN TO GO TOP
Glentoran Women moved to the top of the Danske Bank Women's Premiership as they comfortably defeated Derry City 7-0 at the Ulidia Playing Fields.
The East Belfast outfit moved above Linfield - who did not play tonight and have a game in hand - on goal difference after their landslide win.
There were six different scorers for the Glens in the rout - Rachel Rogan, Kerry Beattie, Nadene Caldwell, Demi Vance and Shannon Grattan were all on target, while Joely Andrews netted a double.
It took only six minutes for Glentoran to open the scoring when Yasmin White sent the ball into the box from the right and Rogan got on the end of a rebound.
Ten minutes before the break, Vance was brought down in the box but Ali McMaster's penalty went over the bar.
On 51 minutes, a sweet ball into the box from Vicky Carleton was met by Beattie who thumped it into the net and 17 minutes later assist from Carleton was cleared to the edge of the box, allowing Andrews to pick it up and fire home.
Caldwell made it 4-0 on the 70th minute with a 25-yard effort and two minutes later Vance scored a fine individual goal.
A second goal from Andrews soon followed on 75 minutes with a precise finish to the bottom right of the net and Grattan's volley with ten minutes remaining completed the scoring.
