GLENS HIT SEVEN PAST DERRY TO GO TOP
Diarmuid O'Carroll's Glens began their campaign with a six-goal victory over Comber Rec. Ladies last week but went one better on Wednesday night with a landslide victory over Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Rachel Rogan netted twice for the East Belfast side with last week's hat-trick hero Kelly Bailie this time netting a brace with Aimee-Lee Peachey, Nadene Caldwell and Demi Vance also among the scorers.
The only goal of the first half came via Peachey, who scored from a corner in the fifth minute after Bailie initially had an effort cleared off the line.
The Glens had to wait until the second half - following a series of missed openings before the break - to extend their lead. Caldwell doubled the advantage straight after half-time with a looped finish - the first of six goals in just over half an hour.
Bailie and Rogan both netted braces while Vance scored in her second successive game as the Glens ran out convincing seven-goal victors.
