IMPRESSIVE LISBURN BOOK LAST FOUR SPOT
Lisburn Ladies are through to the Women’s Premiership League Cup last four after an impressive three-goal victory at Mid Ulster Ladies.
An own goal on the half-hour mark from Karen Donnell opened the scoring before Rachel Kerr and Julie Henderson netted either side of the break.
Donnell’s own goal opened the scoring after inadvertently deflecting in a cross from Lisburn, and more pressure from the visitors paid off as Kerr’s driven shot flew past Mid Ulster goalkeeper Lillie Crooks after Morgan Shannon’s cross.
A goal of the week contender followed as Henderson’s half volley from outside the box found the top corner ten minutes after the break after Crooks could only punch clear a corner, sealing the win.
