KERI PROPELS BLUES INTO SEMIS
A double from Keri Halliday propelled Linfield Ladies to an eye-catching three-goal victory away at Crusaders Strikers.
Halliday opened the scoring before Ebony Leckey’s penalty doubled the Blues lead at Seaview and teenager Halliday added another after the break.
Halliday broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when she found herself in on goal, and she finished well across the Crues keeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford.
Five minutes later and Leckey looked like she was clear through on goal from coming in from Linfield’s left, the Crues keeper Harvey-Clifford was quickly out to her and was adjudged to have missed the ball as the visitors were awarded a penalty, which Leckey converted to go 2-0 up.
Crusaders almost pulled one back just before the break with a super shot left footed shot from Amy McGivern from the edge of the box that thundered off the cross bar, almost falling to Caitlyn Hamilton in the box for the rebound.
Linfield managed to add a third in the 50th minute through Halliday again, her long range shot hitting the underside of the cross bar and dropping in.
