McKEE GOAL ENOUGH FOR BLUES
Linfield hold a 13-point lead at the top of the Sports Direct Premiership following a narrow defeat of Glenavon at Windsor Park.
The Blues needed just one goal to claim the win with Chris McKee bagging the decisive strike after just 11 minutes with a header past keeper Mark Byrne after connecting with Ethan McGee’s delivery from the left.
David Healy's side could have doubled their advantage a short time later after Stephen Fallon's strike was cleared off the line by Peter Campbell while Kirk Millar's curling cross from the left fell just wide of the target.
Glenavon might have levelled just after the half-hour mark when Christopher Atherton's corner bypassed keeper David Walsh and came back off the crossbar.
After the break Fallon sent a ball in for Matthew Fitzpatrick to nod just past the post while, at the other end, David Toure saw a goalbound effort blocked by McGee.
The visitors also threatened later in the half when David McDaid headed just over, with one further chance coming late in proceedings from a Keith Ward free-kick that was just a little too high.
