ROONEY ERA STARTS WITH A DRAW
Nathan Rooney's tenure as Larne manager was saved from defeat by a late equaliser from Ryan Nolan against Cliftonville at Inver Park on Sunday.
Despite a quiet opening to the game, it was the North Belfast Reds who took control of the game and took the lead with 29 minutes elapsed.
It was the in-form Joe Gormley who broke the deadlock as he caught the Larne defence napping, as he reacted quickly to Ronan Doherty's free-kick and drilled a fierce shot past Ferguson.
Larne rallied in the second half with an influx of fresh legs from the bench, but it wasn't until the 88th minute that they got their rewards, as substitute Ryan Nolan scambled home Conor McKendry's deep free kick to the back post.
Cliftonville eventually finished the game with ten men, as Jonny Addis was sent off in stoppage time by referee Shane Andrews.
