KNOWLES WINNER ENOUGH FOR SWIFTS
James Knowles hit Dungannon Swifts' winner as they defeated Carrick Rangers at Taylors Avenue.
The 31-year-old bagged the only goal of the game with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when his low, curling free-kick bounced in front of keeper Ross Glendinning at the near post before finding its way into the net.
A game of few chances, Rangers came closest right at the end of the first half when Emmet McGuckin played Danny Gibson clear but he could only fire just wide.
And Gibson came close again late in the game as Carrick chased the equaliser but, on this occasion, was unfortunate to strike an upright before the ball went out for a corner.
