TEN MAN LURGAN BLUES HOLD ON AT SOLITUDE
Cliftonville and Glenavon played out a scoreless draw at Solitude, a game that saw the visitors end with ten men.
A largely uneventful first half, Cliftonville enjoyed the better of the early opportunities with Shea Kearney seeing his looping cross from the right saved by Gareth Deane while a Sean Stewart half chance not long after that drifted just wide.
Kearney then headed a Rory Hale corner the wrong side of the target with Jack Malone then creating a chance for the visitors only for his effort to sail over.
Perhaps the best chance of the end came near the end when Michael Newberry nodded a Ronan Doherty ball wide, with a similar fate meeting another Malone effort moments later.
A similar pattern followed after the break with Doherty sending the ball over at one end while, at the other, David Odumosu tipped a Peter Campbell strike away.
Odumosu dealt with another threat later in the half, but a potential turning point came soon after when Marshall was dismissed for a challenge on Stewart for his second caution of the afternoon.
