BANNSIDERS CLAIM DERBY BRAGGING RIGHTS
Rhyss Campbell bagged the only goal of the game as Coleraine brought Ballymena United's long winning streak to an end at The Showgrounds.
The 25-year-old struck on 64 minutes with a back post header into the bottom right corner after Ciaron Harkin had knocked the ball on.
It was no less than the Bannsiders deserved from a game that produced few clear cut opportunities throughout, although Dean Shiels' side were on top for large periods.
Their best opening in the scoreless first half came via a Dylan Boyle effort over the top midway through while United could really only point to a couple of late shots from Kym Nelson and Josh Carson, both well dealt with by keeper Max Little.
Campbell came close to breaking the deadlock early in the second half with a half volley from distance which narrowly missed the target before, eight minutes after that, claiming the goal that would eventually settle the game.
Both sides had chances later in the game, with Jamie Glackin having a go with a free-kick from just outside the area while Ballymena came closest to levelling when Aaron Jarvis could only strike the bar from 12 yards after doing well to control the ball.
