BIG PERFORMANCE SEES THE SWIFTS TROUNCE LARNE
Dungannon Swifts swept to a third goal victory over champions Larne at Inver Park.
Larne started brightly, and might have gone in front on 13 minutes when Andy Ryan forced a great save from Swifts keeper Patrick Solis Grogan when he dived to keep out his header.
But the deadlock was broken just three minutes after that at the other end after Leo Alves did well down the right before cutting the ball back for James Knowles to knock into the bottom corner.
The Swifts could have doubled their advantage around the half-hour mark but Alves' low strike from the edge of the box was well tipped away for a corner by Rohan Ferguson.
Dungannon did grab their second on 54 minutes, however, after Alves dispossessed John McGovern who was then allowed the time and space to pick out his finish into the top corner.
And Rodney McAree's side made sure of the points with six minutes remaining when Adam Glenny connected with an Alves corner to head home.
