McDAID GRABS LATE MID ULSTER DERBY WINNER
Glenavon came from behind to defeat Portadown in the Mid Ulster derby at Mourneview Park.
In an entertaining game, it was the Ports that grabbed the advantage at the break when - on 36 minutes - Ahu Obhakhan bundled the ball home from close range after Ryan Mayse had sent it across.
But Glenavon hit back to equalise just before the hour following Keith Ward's lay-off for Jack Malone to knock the ball past Aaron McCarey.
And the winner came right at the end of the game when experienced striker David McDaid pounced on the loose ball after McCarey had initially kept out James Carroll's strike from outside the area.
