BLUES LEAVE IT VERY LATE
Linfield needed a late, late winner to defeat Carrick Rangers in the top against bottom clash at Windsor Park.
Scoreless at the break, the Blues created the best of what chances developed with Matthew Fitzpatrick firing over from a Joel Cooper cross before the same player also nodded a Kirk Millar delivery over the top.
Linfield might have moved in front around the hour mark but Charlie Allen's strike took a deflection off the left post, a few minutes ahead of a Jamie Mulgrew attempt curled narrowly wide.
But David Healy's side had to wait until seven minutes into stoppage time to find a way through when, from a free-kick awarded for a Steven Gordon foul on Cooper, Millar unleashed an unstoppable effort from outside the area into the top right corner.
