TWO GOALS EITHER SIDE OF THE BREAK ENOUGH FOR LARNE
Larne struck either side of the break to get the better of Glentoran in the Friday night game at Inver Park.
Although a relatively quiet first half in terms of opportunities created, Larne did go in at the break on top Andy Ryan sent Daniel Gyollai the wrong way from the spot after he had been brought down in the area by Frankie Hvid.
Tiernan Lynch's side needed just six minutes of the second half to double their advantage after Matthew Lusty got on the end of a Chris Gallagher pass, went past Patrick McClean and fired through Gyollai's legs.
And they might have gone further in front a few minutes after that only for Gyollai to pull off a great stop to thwart Ryan and then Ryan Nolan in quick succession.
Larne could have added to their advantage as the game progressed but, again, found Gyollai in top form to deal with a pile driver from Joe Thomson just after keeping out a Levi Ives attempt.
Then, in stoppage time, Ryan was denied a second goal of the evening only for McClean to clear off the line.
