HUGE WIN FOR LARNE AT WINDSOR
Defending champions Larne defeated leaders Linfield at Windsor Park in what could be a pivotal game come the end of the campaign.
With Larne's title defence getting off to a stuttering and delayed start, a win for the Blues could have seen them open up a 15-point gap on Tiernan Lynch's side.
A quiet first half really only produced one effort of note when, on 36 minutes, a Kirk Millar free-kick was headed into the side netting by Euan East.
The second half was a much different affair, with Linfield enjoying the majority of scoring opportunities.
Darragh McBrien saw a header bounce off the surface and into the grateful arms of Rohan Ferguson, followed soon after by a Charlie Allen left-foot drive that the Larne keeper had to be at his best to turn away.
Joel Cooper then tested Ferguson but again he brilliantly deal with the threat, with an East header some time after that once more being thwarted by a great save.
But Linfield were left to rue those missed opportunities.
With just over ten minutes to go, after defending another home attack, the visitors broke down the pitch with Matthew Lusty getting a shot away which Chris Johns did well to push out but only as far as substitute Conor McKendry to drive home from eight yards.
