McGOVERN SEALS SWIFTS WIN OVER GLENS
Dungannon Swifts claimed a memorable victory over title-chasing Glentoran at Stangmore Park.
It was John McGovern who struck the only goal of the game on 41 minutes, as he latched onto a through ball and his lung busting run through the middle of the Glentoran defence resulted in a fine finish under Daniel Gyollai.
Glentoran continued to push for an equaliser in the second half, but it was the Swifts that almost doubled their lead with seven minutes remaining as Kealan Dillon's strike forced a fine save from the goalkeeper.
The victory moves Dungannon Swifts level on points with Glentoran in fourth place, with Rodney McAree's side now only three points behind the league leaders.
