PORTS STUN BLUES WITH LAST MINUTE LEVELLER
Ryan Mayse grabbed a last gasp equaliser as Portadown twice came from behind to share the spoils with Linfield at Shamrock Park.
Matthew Fitzpatrick edged Linfield in front as early as the sixth minute when a Kirk Millar corner was played on to Chris McKee who, in turn, sent it into the box for Fitzpatrick to fire home with his right foot.
The Blues could have doubled their lead a few minutes after that but Joel Cooper could only strike an upright with a powerful strike that came off Aaron McCarey before going out for a corner.
Portadown fought back to level just before the break, however, when Steven McCullough broke on the counter attack before laying the ball off for Ahu Obhakhan to fire home from point blank range.
But Linfield moved back in front with 20 minutes remaining with Fitzpatrick's second of the night, a calm finish into the bottom corner after Cooper found him with a well delivered through ball.
However, just when it looked Linfield were going to maintain their 100% start to the campaign up popped Mayse in the fifth minute of stoppage time with a rifled half volley finish past Chris Johns from just outside the area.
