SWIFTS BAG FIRST WIN AS SKY BLUES SLIP TO FOURTH DEFEAT
Dungannon Swifts claimed their first win of the season with victory over Ballymena United at Stangmore Park.
What proved to be the winner - and only goal of the season - came with 19 minutes on the clock when Kealan Dillon fired a free-kick across the face of goal before it settled in the far corner of the net.
The visitors attempted to claw their way back into the game through efforts from Sean Brown and Andy Scott but all to no avail as they went in at the break behind.
The Swifts might have doubled their lead early in the second half but Adam Glenny's set piece fizzed just wide, while Dillon was later denied by keeper Sam Johnston.
Ballymena did have the ball in the net later in the game but Ben Kennedy's finish after Stephen O'Donnell had knocked on a Daniel Lafferty free-kick was ruled out offside.
