GLENS SWEEP PAST CRUES AT THE OVAL
Glentoran wrapped the regular season up with a comprehensive four-goal defeat of Crusaders at the BetMcLean Oval.
The Glens came close to opening the scoring around the half-hour mark when Billy Joe Burns' cross from the left was turned against the underside of the bar by Charlie Lindsay.
But, moments after that, they did move in front when Jay Donnelly picked up the loose ball from another Lindsay effort to fire past keeper Ryan Kerr.
That was how it stayed until three goals in just over ten minutes saw the Glens kill the game off in the second half.
Kirk McLaughlin struck on 62 minutes to double the home advantage after cutting in from the left to slide the ball into the bottom corner coming off Crues defender Kevin Joshua before, six minutes after that, McLaughlin met Callen Farley's left-sided cross to slot home from close range.
And the scoring was completed with just over a quarter-of-an-hour left to play when skipper Marcus Kane was given space in the box to divert a corner into the net.
