VILLAGERS SWEEP PAST LURGAN BLUES
Loughgall continue to lead the way in Section B of the Sports Direct Premiership following a comprehensive defeat of Glenavon at Lakeview Park.
The Villagers moved in front after a quarter-of-an-hour when Ryan Waide smashed home the rebound after Caolan Loughran's header came back off the crossbar.
And they doubled their advantage in the closing stages of the first half through Andrew Hoey's deflected effort from the edge of the box after Jordan Gibson had laid the ball off.
Glenavon thought they had pulled one back early in the second half but Gavin Hodgins' finish was ruled out offside.
But the visitors did get on the scoresheet with eight minutes remaining after David Toure's cross from the right was nodded into his own net by Loughran ... and it got worse for the home defender not long after that when he was dismissed following an altercation with Darren Clarke.
However Loughgall responded positively and made sure of the points right at the end through substitute Benji Magee's cool finish beyond Gareth Deane.
