SHEVLIN AT THE DOUBLE FOR BANNSIDERS
Two Matthew Shevlin goals helped Coleraine get the better of Glentoran at the Showgrounds.
A first half of few chances, the visitors created the best of whatever opportunities presented themselves particularly through James Singleton who twice threatened from distance, but one effort went wide while home keeper Rory Brown doing well to deal with the other.
Coleraine looked a better proposition after the break, and might have gone in front early on only for Josh Carson's free-kick to fizz just past the right hand post.
The Bannsiders did find a way through on 55 minutes, however, when Shevlin fired into the top right corner after intercepting a stray pass.
Then, a quarter-of-an-hour after that, he struck again in similar circumstances to slip the finish under Aaron MCCarey.
Patrick McClean pulled one back for the Glens seven minutes after that with a cool close range strike after the home defence failed to deal with a corner from the left.
Jay Donnelly might have snatched a late equaliser only to head over after the ball fell for him from a McClean effort as the home side held on to claim the points.
