GLENAVON DEFEAT NEWRY IN FIVE-GOAL THRILLER
Stephen Teggart bagged the late winner as Glenavon defeated relegation haunted Newry City at Mourneview Park.
The Lurgan Blues moved in front midway through the first half when James Doona rifled the ball into the back of the net from a free-kick around 25 yards from goal awarded after Gavin Hodgins had been brought down.
Newry levelled just after the hour through Adam Salley after he created space just outside the area to unleash a terrific right foot finish into the top corner.
Hodgins restored Glenavon's lead on 70 minutes when he touch a took to control the ball before beating Conor Mitchell from an acute angle.
But City responded again seven minutes after that when, following a bit of a goalmouth scramble, Barney McKeown managed to nod the ball over the line.
However Glenavon's winner came right at the end of normal time after Teggart found the bottom corner with a first time effort from Hodgins' lay-off.
