SWIFTS HOLD TO SECURE THE WIN
Dungannon Swifts withstood a second half comeback to defeat Carrick Rangers by the odd goal in five at Stangmore Park.
The Swifts moved in front on 13 minutes after Tomas Gavlin got in behind the defence to send a finish beyond the reach of keeper Ross Glendinning.
Kealan Dillon made it 2-0 five minutes after that with a terrific right foot effort delivered low from 25 yards before, barely four minutes late, he struck again - this time with his left foot - into the top corner after Albert Watson's headed clearance fell perfectly for him.
The visitors pulled one back early in the second half through Kyle Cherry who met James Teelan's low cross at the back post to beat Declan Dunne.
And they reduced the deficit further still just past the hour when Danny Gibson nodded home from close range.
But despite pressure from the visitors the Swifts held on to claim all three points.
