LARNE GAIN REVENGE ON REDS
Larne gained revenge on Cliftonville with a two-goal victory at Solitude to maintain their two point lead at the top of the table.
Looking to make up for Saturday's Irish Cup disappointment, Larne got off to a flying start when Andy Ryan directed Sean Graham's corner towards goal with Cliftonville defender Luke Kenny getting the final touch as the ball went over the line.
Larne continued to press, and might have doubled their advantage after Ryan pounced on a loose ball in the area only to fail to find the target while, later in the half, Lee Bonis missed a gaping opportunity at the back post after Ryan had played the ball across.
The Reds came close to levelling early in the second half after the Hale brothers combined for Ronan to test Rohan Ferguson but his finish was poor.
Bonis then failed to find the target at the other end before, on the hour, Ryan did double Larne's lead with a superb finish past David Odumusu after outmuscling Paddy Burns.
And Tiernan Lynch's side could have hit a third later in the second half only for Leroy Millar to rattle the crossbar from Bonis' lay-off.
