GLENS STROLL PAST SKY BLUES
Glentoran swept to an ultimately comfortable four goal defeat of Ballymena United at the BetMcLean Oval.
The Glens broke the deadlock on 21 minutes after Luke McCullough pounced on the loose ball from a Shay McCartan corner to fire high into the net from six yards.
Ballymena's hopes of clawing their way back into the game suffered a serious blow early in the second half when Mikey Place was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Fuad Sule.
Glentoran made the most of their extra man with a three-goal blitz soon after.
Daire O'Connor made it 2-0 on the hour after poking the ball home when Aidan Wilson had knocked on James Singleton's cross from the left.
McCartan added a third three minutes after that despite not getting a clean connection to Junior's lay-off from the right.
Then, on 66 minutes, O'Connor hit his second of the afternoon after meeting Niall McGinn's left-sided cross to divert the ball past Sean O'Neill.
