GLENS BOUNCE BACK
Interim Glentoran boss Declan Devine ran his eye over his new squad for the first time as they defeated Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
The visitors moved in front on 17 minutes when Shay McCartan converted from the spot, sending Declan Dunne the wrong way, after Niall McGinn had been brought down by Steven Scott inside the box.
Dungannon might have levelled only for Joe Moore to be denied by Aaron McCarey, just before Andrew Mitchell was thwarted by a well timed Patrick McClean tackle.
Glentoran doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark through Junior Uzokwe who slotted home the rebound after Aidan Wilson's header had been well kept out by Dunne.
And they could have gone further in front before the break only for McCartan to be denied by the post, followed soon after by Swifts defender Dean Curry heading a James Singleton cross onto the crossbar as he attempted to clear the danger.
But that third goal did arrive on the hour after Daire O'Connor found McGinn with a superb cross with the former Swift finding the bottom corner from close range.
